Beloved Birds Facing Uncertain Fate

Beloved Birds Facing Uncertain Fate

The Issue

Black Thistle Farm is a peaceful place.

It is now a battle ground for animals' lives and civil rights.

The farm was founded by immigrants in 1934. Over the decades, the owners have crafted meticulous, landscaped specimen gardens (worth tens of thousands) ...and beautiful endangered chicken breeds have been loved and saved here for over 50 years.

Until the spring of 2021, when town officials decided they were going to target and aggressively end 90 years of town history and viciously destroy the legacy of a striking 3 story historic Federal-style home and property.

Black Thistle Farm is a LEGAL organic farm in Massachusetts specializing in carbon negative agriculture where animals live as family members - for their entire lives. The farm is in an agriculturally zoned area of the town.

But NONE of that is stopping these officials who are determined to destroy this historic, and one of the last, farms in the town. In fact, a neighbor was told that this was their goal - to target the owner and take them down because of an article in the newspaper (that lovingly praised the farm and its mission).

These town officials have openly voiced that they "HATE" chickens and now are using their power to try an enact a personal vendetta against the civil rights of the farm's owner, who has been unable to conduct commerce, engage in freedom of speech (fearing immediate backlash) and is forced into seclusion from fear of escalating threats.

The farm owner has just been summoned to a CRIMINAL arraignment for being a legal Massachusetts farm. The owner is planning on suing if this does not stop and she is determined to not be driven from her farm. Does this sound like the United States? Definitely NOT.

Please help us spread the word - and help prevent these birds from being torn from their homes.  The birds are all named and they are all very special pets. Some are special needs and others are elderly. No one deserves death. No one deserves being torn from their homes. And no one deserves being forced to live in terror on their own property in the USA.
