Word has been going around that nearly half of the staff members at Belleville Public District have been placed on a list to be laid off. Some teachers are reportedly being let go for reasons that have not been clearly explained. Many believe newer teachers are being targeted; however, experienced staff members have also expressed concerns about potentially losing their positions, even if it's only for while.

There have also been growing concerns throughout the community regarding decisions made by our new superintendent. Our district is already severely understaffed, and there continues to be a shortage of people willing to work in the education field.
