Saint Mary’s has approved the club and has sanctioned events from the foundation “Turning Point USA.” Saint Mary's has approved a club that directly contradicts the morals Saint Mary’s advocates for. The former leader of Turning Point USA has been known to make very sexist, racist, and homophobic remarks about others. I have included a list below in case you were curious. 

• "You do not have the brain processing power to be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person's slot to go be taken somewhat seriously."
  
  • July 13, 2023; On Charlie Kirk’s podcast, he made this comment while criticizing affirmative action, arguing that several prominent Black women (Joy Reid, Michelle Obama, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Ketanji Brown Jackson) gained recognition because of race-based diversity rather than merit. The remark targeted specific public figures and used racialized language to dismiss their intelligence and legitimacy instead of engaging with their ideas or records.

• “Maybe one of the reasons that Taylor Swift has been so annoyingly liberal over the last couple of years is that she’s not yet married, and she doesn’t have children. … Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.”
  • August 26, 2025; during an episode of The Charlie Kirk Show focused on the news that Taylor Swift announced her engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce. Instead of simply congratulating her, he dragged her down, exclaiming how he hopes she changes because she wouldn’t be a fit mother with her current values.
• “It is so materially insane to think that one in five American women will be raped in their life. … Meaning that they’re lying about being raped, that they’re lying about being sexually assaulted.”
  • 2025; At a campus visit, Charlie Kirk exclaimed this message when discussing women who are sexually assaulted. Again, attempting to silence women’s voices. 

As you see, Charlie Kirk is not someone who reflects Saint Mary’s core values. He was also often affiliated with others who had just as strong views about what a “woman’s role” should be. One prolific person he associated with was Donald Trump, who:

• Had strong relations with Jeffrey Epstein. 
  • Also in the Epstein Files
•  Denied the results of the 2020 election, then incited a terrorist attack on the capital. 
• Would refuse to rent to black people, and would lie about no apartments being available. 
• Has made many racist, sexist, and homophobic quotes.
• His approval of the horrific, inhuman treatment of people of color.
  • This doesn’t just include undocumented immigrants. Many US citizens have also been detained even while showing legal documentation. Including veterans, people with disabilities, and those purely based on skin color. 

 With Charlie’s death, those who replace his position share and uphold these same values. The values that degrade women and emphasise the distrust of people of color. I’ve been around the Saint Mary’s community enough to know this is not what we stand for.

On Saint Mary’s website, one of the first things it says is “Our first priority is the empowerment of women.“ I truly believe the college cannot make this claim, but still endorses a foundation that consistently degrades women and advocates for us not to get a degree, instead staying at home to raise children. 

There are many problems the US is currently facing. But nothing will change unless we make our voices known.
