To everyone who has signed, shared, and supported this petition — thank you. Because of you, this conversation continues to grow.
Please know that this effort has not slowed down. Behind the scenes, I am continuing to reach out to community groups, environmental advocates, historians, and organizations who care about protecting open land and preserving the character of Paramus.
This land is more than a parcel on a map. Once it is gone, it is gone forever.
As part of this outreach, I have also begun contacting Lenape communities and Native organizations connected to this region. Paramus sits on the ancestral homeland of the Lenape people, and their connection to this land is deeply significant.
Their voice and perspective matter in conversations about the future of land that carries generations of history. If this space were preserved, many residents believe it could become something meaningful — a place of environmental stewardship, community learning, and recognition of the people who first cared for this land.
Protecting land is not just about what we build today.
It is about what we choose to protect for tomorrow.
Every signature, every share, and every conversation helps make it harder for these spaces to quietly disappear.
Please continue sharing the petition so more people can be part of this effort.
Petition:
This community deserves a voice in what happens to the last pieces of land we still have left.
If you believe this land should at least be considered before it disappears, please sign and share so more people can be part of the conversation.
