Bee ordinance

Bee ordinance
The Issue
We, the undersigned, respectfully petition against the new city ordinance that requires homeowners to relocate their beehives. Many of us have responsibly maintained our beehives long before this ordinance was proposed, and we believe we should be grandfathered in and allowed to keep them in their current locations without having to add a fly away barrier.
Beekeeping is not only a cherished hobby for many of us but also a vital practice for the environment. Our beehives contribute to the pollination of local plants, gardens, and crops, supporting biodiversity and the health of our ecosystem. Relocating these beehives could disrupt the well-established colonies and negatively impact local agriculture and plant life.
We urge the city council to reconsider this ordinance and allow existing beehives to remain in place. By grandfathering in our beehives, the city can support both its residents and the environment, maintaining a balance between regulation and the preservation of beneficial practices.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
[Your Name] and the undersigned homeowners
