This is a petition to get a pedestrian/cycle bridge built onto the bridge over Clock House Lane (B3003). Leading to Bedfont Lakes.... 

Yesterday my son was nearly knocked off his bike by a car and it is only a matter of time before a serious incident or fatality happens on this bridge... is it really true that two fatalities need to happen before a pedestrian bridge will be built? 

If you have ever tried to cross this bridge on foot, running or cycling you know the serious dangers/risks it offers all its users, young and old. 

The bridge is a main access point to Bedfont Lakes.  The bridge has a constant flow of traffic which has increased heavily over the years. Many local people now avoid the bridge due to poor access/dangers. 

The bridge itself is extremely narrow,  lacks suitable warning signs ⚠️, cars, vans and large trucks often don’t expect pedestrians on foot, runners, or cyclists.  

I hope you agree the access from Ashford over the bridge is just simply not acceptable, unsafe and in need of far better access...

Improvements like the one leading into the high street from Church Road or the one over the bridge by Stanwell Road by Hitchcock & King Building Merchants... both have clear measures in place to keep users safe from traffic...

If enough of you get behind this petition we can make this a serious priority for 2020/21. 

Your support and our collective voice will mean the decision makers and those responsible for keeping us safe will not be able to ignore or delay the bridge improvements.
