The Issue
SST and HS2 are getting combined into one school. This is a problem because SST has provided nothing short of the best public education available in Oregon for 20+ years. Due to budget cuts, the district now wants to close the school and merge it with HS2, a much different school.
Beaverton School District needs to stop wasting money on useless things and need to get severely audited by State employees. One way or another, they must find a way to keep SST open.
I am a student at SST and I can not bear to see the school close down and die. The district has money to build giant new schoolы like Mountainside with more than great equipment and countless, expensive sports fields, while an expeditionary learning school like SST gets closed down. The District is putting sports in front of education, that is not ok.
SST has provided a school for bright, shy, intelligent students that do not like large schools full of bullies, drugs, and disciplinary issues. If SST gets closed down, all of these students will end up having to suffer instead of enjoying high school.
