My name is Marquesha Williams, a resident of our town who, like many others, drives daily through the street at my address. This route, within our city limits, has become a daily torment for not just me, but for all who use it. The irritant is the sub-standard condition of the pavement, more precisely, the refilled unleveled potholes. Every day, we hear our cars painfully hitting them one by one, disrupting our peaceful commutes and jeopardizing the wellbeing of our vehicles.

My house was newly built approximately 4 years ago, it is frustrating to look out the front door and see this eyesore on Howard Harris Road. The noise level for every time that it is hit is astronomical. The mixed matched patches can’t be straddled any longer to avoid the bangs from vehicles! There are divots up and down the entire street. Repairs requests have been made and the requests were honored. The issues have persisted despite repairs. The patches have never maintained the street properly and a total street pavement would be greatly welcomed on Howard Harris Road. It is definitely time to find the funding for the complete resurfacing of Howard Harris Road.

However, it's not just about the annoyance. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), pothole damage costs U.S. drivers an average of $3 billion annually. Moreover, poorly maintained roads are contributing to over one-third of the traffic fatalities. Our street could sadly contribute to these statistics if no action is taken. 

The call is not just for us, the regular drivers of this route, but for the safety and comfort of all the residents using this street. A paved road will not only silence our daily commutes but will also increase road safety and potentially augment the value of our properties.
