The purpose of this petition is to generate support for a grassroots project to paint a mural on the corner of Saratoga Ave. and Grand St in Memphis, TN. This block is highly visible to motorists and people passing through the Orange Mound community. A day care center used to operate here. Now it is abandoned and has been an eyesore for several years. Orange Mound is one of the oldest communities established for African Americans. Preserving this rich heritage is important. A mural would give this corner a much needed facelift and help beautify the community. You can help by signing this petition, spreading the word, and volunteering.
