I made this petition to make sure that our voices are heard on the subject of our fire service. This issue affects the entire community and we need to be heard! Please sign and share with others!

Paxtang, PA- In the fall of 2021, Paxtang Council started exploring bids for paxtang’s fire service.

Here are those two-

Swatara township is volunteer fire company having the same staffing issues as many other volunteer fire companies in the state of Pennsylvania. They are farther away and have a longer response time and there is no guarantee they get out the door. Paxtang Fire company’s future is currently unknown under this contract.

Harrisburg City staffs PAID firefighters 24/7 who would be at your side quickly for each call in the case of an emergency and HAVE GUARANTEED your LOCAL volunteer firehouse stays right in our community to respond when you are in need.

Please sign to let council know if we are going to outsource fire service, anything less than a contract with Harrisburg Fire Department who would provide around the clock response and allow our local volunteers to do what they love is a disservice to each and every resident in the borough!

And let’s fill the council room on Tuesday June 21st at 7pm! Let’s hold them accountable for providing us reliable fire service if we’d ever have a need.
