Be a part of something, help Bring a Safe, Fully Enclosed Inclusive Park to Patterson
The Issue
Patterson does not currently have a fully enclosed, ADA-accessible community park where children and individuals of all abilities can safely participate. Traditional open playgrounds can be unsafe or inaccessible for young children, wheelchair users, individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, sensory needs, and those who wander or have limited awareness of danger.
These barriers keep children and their families from fully participating in outdoor recreation and public community life. Many families experience isolation, stress, and fewer opportunities to connect with others, affecting the mental health and well-being of caregivers, children, and the community as a whole. Every Patterson family deserves equal access to a safe, welcoming public space where they can participate, connect, and belong.
phase 1 safety fencing around an already existing park. There are so many parts and Patterson one deserves to become safe for all Patterson citizens
phase 2, resurface a already established playground in Patterson. to become wheelchair accessible, stroller, accessible, ADA accessible, walkers, and all generation access accessible
phase 3, falling, enclosed, moving design installed accessible playground in Patterson, California. to support a safe community outing, with access to ADA accommodations and serve multiple disabilities & welcomes multi- generations
