Blocked View of the Fremont Bridge

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500.

On September 21st, the Portland Design Review Commission will approve a new building on the waterfront. For months, they have been working with the Lincoln Property Company to build a 17 story building directly to the south of the Fremont Bridge on Naito Pkwy. Unfortunately, similar to the building on the Burnside bridge, the approval of this process is happening behind closed doors without community involvement and therefore the consequences are going unnoticed. This petition is to bring awareness and community support before it's too late.

The building on Naito Parkway has a significant impact to the community in the Pearl District.

1) The view from the Field's Park - One of the most iconic views within Portland is the Fremont Bridge from the Field's Park. The new 17 story building is going to be directly in that view blocking the Fremont Bride from the Fields Park.  The community along with people living in the surrounding buildings will no longer be able to see the Fremont Bridge.

2) Parking - Like many other buildings, there will not be enough parking for all of the units in the structure. With no parking available on Naito Pkwy, the additional cars will find themselves on the street in the Pearl creating further traffic jams.

Your voice matters! Your signature on this petition will inform the local politicians and the design review committee of your support in reducing the height of the building and providing sufficient parking to support the residents. Only through community involvement can we properly shape how we want our community to grow and ensure our representatives are properly informed.

Here is a link to the proposed building.
