One of the biggest achievements as a high school student is our high school graduation. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, schools have been having to postpone or even cancel graduation ceremonies. 

However, Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation has decided to take a different approach with a "virtual graduation." This "virtual graduation" is said to include prerecorded videos of speeches and the reading of the names of their high school students "in hope that this will bring closure to the past 13 years of your education." On behalf of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation class of 2020, and Columbus North High School, we do NOT agree to this "virtual graduation." Prerecorded videos of our administration talking about the next chapter of our life does not bring  "closure" for all 900+ seniors in our community. There are other ways to hold graduation, and we disagree with the fact that our administration has neglected to gather the input of their senior class and parents for this special time in their lives. 

We do understand that safety is a major concern during these uncertain times. However, we believe there are other options, to be specific, the postponment of our graduation ceramonies to a later date, is something that our administration has failed to consider.
