With schools all over Canada closing to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and with some moving online as a response, it’s going to be difficult for those students in the North to continue their education online.

For those who don’t live in the North, it’s typically Northwestel as the sole provider and it’s very, VERY expensive. Overage charges are no joke.

Should some of these schools go online, many students’ families won’t be able to afford it. They should not have to suffer for the sake of a greedy company. Many other companies have either reduced or do not have overage charges in our nation’s time of crisis. 

People need to be able to contact loved ones they won’t be able to see, and all students should have equal opportunity to continue their education despite the cancellation of face-to-face classes. 

Personally, I do not see why anyone should have to pay more $$$ when they’re already worried about not being able to go to work and school while sick or during the efforts to contain this virus � Many others have concerns such as trying to still pay rent, bills, and groceries - let alone expensive internet.

 Please sign this petition and help create change for everyone in the North. The South and other parts of Canada are fortunate to have things like affordable, unlimited access to internet. Let’s make something like this more equal for all Canadians. ��
