A petition is only the start - to bring people together to talk and add their voice to a concern. Today I wrote a very long letter (essay?!) to Glen Hansman explaining my concerns about the posters/publications and providing evidence to counter the claims made. It took very little effort with Google and my phone to find evidence - thank you to all my BC teachers who gave me the skills for media literacy and a passion for history. I did also include a thank you note for the union's work on restoring class size and composition - that is a sincere thank you. Just because I am critical of publications from the BCTF does not mean I don't appreciate the good they do. My hope is that other people will write or call in and let the BCTF know your thoughts on these posters/publications too. And maybe a thank you note as well if you feel so inclined.
