Fellow Petitioners,

It's been 40 months since a small group of us begun our Petition on the "Fix for Route Six". Campaigning anyone who is in an elected position. MLA Adam Olsen was amazing in advocating and championing our cause in the Spring 2022.

Throughout this Petitioning Mayor Rob Douglas of North Cowichan and MLA Derbra Toporowski have been amazingly helpful and steadfast supporters.

Prime Minister Mark Carney had a Campaign Stop in Victoria on Tuesday. The President of the BC Ferries Union had a Press Release commenting on the Federal Subsidies of $35Mil/Year to BC Ferries, while on the East Coast the various Ferry Operators receive a total of $120Mil. The thrust of the comment was the unfairness.

For Patrons of Route 6 we'd be very appreciative of the Federal Government becoming more involved with the subsidies to BC Ferries. In our case the money had been allocated to the New Ferry Terminal Improvements at both Vesuvius Bay and Plan B at Crofton by the BC Ferries Commissioner. It was BC Ferries Management who reallocated the funding and came up with a baked solution for Route 6.

It's basically shameful in the way the BC Ferries CEO and his Management Team have reneged on their commitment to Route 6.

For those who are still Undecided in this Federal Election, here's something to consider:

"Again, the message is about moving SGI to the governing side of the house. For the past 14 years the riding has languished in the thrall of an opposition party with little or no influence in government. If we want these projects taken seriously and moved up in priority, we must elect Mark Carney and the Liberal Party to get it done. A vote for David Beckham is a vote for Mark Carney.

Thanks again for all your help and support."

Can our Liberal Candidate - David Beckham support our causes in Ottawa more effectively than any of the other 3 Candidates? This assuming Prime Minister Mark Carney will be forming our next Federal Government. It appears the only question yet to be decided on Monday, will it be a minority, majority or a complete landslide for the Liberal Party of Canada?

David Beckham came out nowhere when Mark Carney announced he was running as as Candidate and joined the Campaign as a Candidate for Saanich Gulf Islands.

Getting to know David has been a pleasure, he's passionate, speaks respectfully and competently on the Issues of the Day. More importantly he has come forward to support the $6Mil NSSWD Grant for the Lake Maxwell Water Treatment Plant here on Salt Spring Island and vowed to soldier our cause on the "Fix for Route Six" and support measures to improve BC Ferries from a Federal Government perspective.

If you haven't decided on a Candidate on the Final Day of Campaigning, please consider the Merits of Electing David Beckham to Represent the Constituents of Saanich Gulf Islands.

Elbows Up!

Thank you! The Patrons of Route 6...
