Fellow Petitioners,

Just in, things are ramping up on the New Crofton Terminal after a 3 year dormancy period do to a number of factors. Concept 2 has been chosen with some changes to be discussed prior to the final plan and tendering process.

Hats off to the BC Ferries VP of Customer Engagement and Strategy - Brian Anderson and the BC Ferries Terminal Design Team for re-engaging the design process. The timeline - Fall of 2026 is an ambitious schedule to accommodate the arrival of the 2 New Ferry Service and commissioning of the New ECO Island Class Ferries. Pending the funding approval by BC Ferries Commissioner. 

After 50+ years of very little change, these are very exciting improvements for the next 50 years for the Communities of Crofton, Mid Island and Salt Spring Island.

The New Mayor of the Municipality of North Cowichan - Rob Douglas and New Councillor - Bruce Finlay who is a resident of the Town of Crofton is very welcomed news. Both Gentlemen are fully engaged and looking forward to dealing with BC Ferries in seeing this project through to completion by the Fall of 2026.
