Fellow Petitioners we need your support.

We want to send a polite request to BC Ferries CEO - Jill Sharland for outstanding requests that are minimal cost and fairly straight forward to address but have been dragging on now for 11 months.

Subject - Pending requests at the Crofton Terminal

Message:

Dear CEO Jill Sharland,

As a Petitioner on the "Fix for Route Six" we are deeply grateful for your Submission to the BC Ferries Commissioner to provide funding for the New Ferry Terminals at Vesuvius Bay and Crofton. As well as the 2 vessel service using the New ECO Friendly - Island Class Vessels by the Fall of 2026. However, that's still a fair bit of time away.

Since January we've been requesting the following improvements at the Crofton Ferry Terminal as an interim measure to improve the BC Ferries Experience at minimum cost.

We would sincerely appreciate your help in addressing the following:

The pending requests at the Crofton Terminal:

1. Porta Potti on the wharf where foot passengers stage for boarding. The current Porta Potti beside the Toll Booth to be placarded as such with times when available, example "After - 6:00PM”.
2. Salt Exchange CAM mounted on the Crofton Toll Booth sighting up Chaplin St. (joint venture with the Salt Spring Exchange).
3. "No Parking” rectangles painted on Chaplin St in front of Residences similar to what has been accomplished on Vesuvius Bay Rd leading to the Ferry Terminal.
4. Moving the 7:55PM sailing up to a departure time of 7:20PM
5. Dangerous Goods Sailings on Mondays and Thursdays moved to the evening hours. Year round would be nice but during Peak Season Demand - May thru September (longer daylight hours) would truly be appreciated. The service providers don’t seem to have an issue with this.

Thank you, Your Name, Island, Town or City.
