Fellow Petitioners,

Work continues unabated on raising awareness and concerns on Route 6 and just as important Route 4. In 6 1/2 months we have definitely raised awareness. Now it's time to channel that energy into more tangible results. 

One of the issues looming for Route 4 is The Fix. Assuming there is no other alternative, creating a larger parking containment area by adding fill to the current parking lot fill and create a larger parking lot for upwards of 160 vehicles, instead of the 45 to 60 we currently have. While some may have issues, there are very few alternatives (which have pretty much been exhausted) to get vehicles off the Roadway and give the Village of Fulford their Community back.

This idea is telegraphed in the Islands Trust Amendment to the OCP (Official Community Plan) of 2008. Backstopped by the 1992 Agreement between the Ministry of Transportation and Islands Trust.

With the pending Fall Election on October the 15th, now is the time to start engaging our Candidates for both CRD Director and Islands Trust Trustees.
