Several weeks back we politely asked one the of FAC Committee Members if he would encourage the FAC Chair to conduct a Poll of his  Member's to seek who supports the Merits of the "The Fix for Route Six". To best of our knowledge the Poll never took place.

At this time can we reach out to Committee Members highlighted in bold above to come forward to their Community if they feel a Year Round 2 Ferry Service using the MV Quinitsa is a positive way forward to mitigate our traffic gridlock at all 3 Ferry Terminals?

The FAC Chair and CRD Director (acting as a FAC Member) went unilaterally forward last June without Community Engagement, with a Service Request to BCF. Suggesting the use of the MV Quinitsa this Summer to relieve traffic at Fulford Harbour. The Patrons of Route Six don't have a problem but suggest the MV Quinitsa is a total misfit because of its lack of speed and uplift capacity of vehicles. The Bowen Queen is currently a spare and tied up at Fulford and is a suitable candidate (if serviceable) with its 11.2 Kt speed potential and 61 vehicle capacity.

The Queen of Cumberland is potentially available this Summer for extra duty. With its 112 Vehicle Capacity and 12.2 Kt cruising speed. Now that's a people and vehicle mover. As long as you don't have to rely on the ramps which destroys on time performance, witnessed last Fall.

If the FAC Chair, CRD Director and Committee could recommend this to BC Ferries. It could be unequivocally the best recommendation for Route 4 in the last decade.

A Sincere Thank You To All, Patrons of Route 6.
