Hari kaur started this petition to BBMP and

Turahalli is the only forest area left in the city. Turahalli minor forest covers 600 acres of land while the reserved forest area adjoining it covers 552 acres.

The government will build walkways, cycle tracks, toilets, parking space. From deer to peacocks, there are over 125 types of birds in the forest. Where will they go?

The residents of the forest (animals of the forest) have been an integral part of the local community and are at risk of losing their home for the sake of a park. Bengaluru once called the garden city and is not standing up to the name It was once awarded. It is our responsibility as the residents of the garden city that we maintain our garden and not pollute it for a park.

There are many local parks which the citizens rarely use and making a new park in the middle of the forest will lead to the destruction of a protected forest. The Forest department has done an excellent job in maintaining the forest and its residents. It would be shameful if we erase years of work they have worked for.

Creating jobs through tourism is a good idea, but at what cost? We need to focus on the number of lives we will be displacing. This will not only our generation but future generations too. Bengaluru is increasing in size and pollution, we need to keep the lungs of the city safe so that our children grow up in a Bengaluru where they need not suffocate.

The campsite policy taught to kids around the world is an essential policy we as humans follow and are held accountable to enforce. If this generation of Indians does not enforce the policy, what are we teaching our future generations about.

I request my fellow citizens of Bengaluru to kindly approach your legislators and assert your power as a citizen of this beautiful city.
