It's been nearly two months since we handed off the petition, and BBC Worldwide's response can be best summed up using a quote from "The Underwater Menace" itself: "No answer. Sad." As you may have guessed from the lack of any updates, we've had nothing but radio silence from BBC Worldwide and the future of "The Underwater Menace" on DVD has remained frustratingly uncertain. However, Issue #488 of the BBC's official Doctor Who Magazine released today and finally offered solid confirmation regarding the future of this release. Unfortunately, I have to report that it's not good news - it seems BBC Worldwide have made the decision to cancel the release outright, leaving the Doctor Who DVD range just one episode short of being truly complete. To everyone who added their voices to help support the release - thank you once again. The petition may not have worked, but at least we gave it our best shot.
