“Reinstate and implement LIVE BSL on Scottish TV screens.”

The Issue

In the heydays, Scottish news used to have BSL interpreters on the news bulletins during at the prime time that were a saviour with the rich BSL information given towards to the BSL Deaf viewers in Scotland and UK on the Scottish TV screens. We wish to re-instate the BSL interpreting on Scottish screens and increase with the availability with more BSL interpreting due to recent passing of BSL Bill in Scotland. Please sign my petition – which fully supported by Deaf Confederacy – to support our call on the BBC/STV to ensure that the programme is fully BSL accessible for people across the UK who use British Sign Language (BSL) and must be provided at the prime time. There are 13,000 BSL users in Scotland alone! The BBC/STV do provide with live subtitles, which is important for people whose first language is English, but BSL users need Sign Language Interpreters on screen to follow the news and politics, live debates about the elections in their own native language. BSL users pay the TV licence like everyone else and should have equal access to this and it should be re-instated with the news bulletins and implement LIVE BSL broadcasting (political debates, etc.) for the BSL users in Scotland on Scottish TV screens. ***Please sign our petition to show your BSL support!***
