I was beyond dismayed to see the new BBC programme, Pooch Perfect showing dogs having their hair dyed, nails painted and dressed with accessories that clearly made some of the dogs look uncomfortable. 
This is such an irresponsible act that not only encourages people to behave in a way that is likely to cause distress to many pets in our society, but also put people at risk. 
Many dogs are very uncomfortable about their paws being touched at all, let alone painted over a prolonged period. 
The BBC should be far more responsible, particularly at a time when many people across the UK are searching for and welcoming new dogs into their families due to the impact of Covid. 
Dogs are sentient beings, not toys that can be dressed up and painted. I honestly cannot believe I am having to write this, who on earth commissioned this and allowed it to be broadcast? 
BBC, do the right thing, apologise and remove this from our screens. I do not pay my license fee to see mans best friend paraded around after being abused.
