Since the addition of Matt Lucas as Noel Fielding's co-host on the Great British Bake Off, the show has seen a decline in its charming sense of humour and warm chemistry between co-hosts, bakers, and judges. Over the years, GBBO has had its share of wonderful, funny, and ridiculous hosts: Mel and Sue, Noel and Sandy -- all of whom complimented each other and created a viewing experience that left you feeling as if you were bathed in a warm batch of creme patisserie. 

Now, with Matt as co-host there is a clear lack of chemistry across the board which leaves viewers cringing as he makes childish jokes, bad puns, and awkward comments. This years bakers seem less tolerant of his antics than previous years and Noel's disdain for Matt grow more apparent with each passing episode.  It can only be assumed that the sketches that kick off each week's episode are written by Matt and in which Noel must begrudgingly participate. 

The Great British Bake Off's warmth, dry humour, and charm must be preserved at all costs. No other shows come close to exemplifying the pure kindness, joy, and camaraderie that runs as the undercurrent for each episode.
