There’s some chatter that Emily Maitlis has not been sacked. As far as I know this is true - she has not.  But this petition was not about that. She has been humiliated by being taken off tonight’s show and by virtue of the BBCs sycophantic apology. This petition was about letting the BBC know that we want her back on Newsnight now. It’s about letting the BBC know we want our news unfiltered. It’s about letting Emily Maitlis know she has the support of the British public.
