We, the undersigned, petition the Executive Editor at BBC Radio Solent to re-instate Nick Girdler following his enforced dismissal by the BBC.  Nick was given just 10 days notice before his final programme was broadcast on Sunday 24th February  2019. This is a grossly unfair and unjust way to treat a much loved and uniquely talented presenter on Radio Solent who has demonstrated such professionalism, yet humility, to generations of  listeners.  Nick has given over 45 years of loyal service to Radio Solent.   He has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages - his listeners, guests on the programme and the many callers he has on air.  Nick has a sharp wit and a brilliantly wicked and endearing sense of humour.   He has a very loyal following of listeners for whom his Sunday morning programme is a highlight of their week.  A treasure like Nick can never be replaced!
