Greg James and Chris Smith are brilliant on the radio together - they have a great relationship and complement eachother perfectly. They've been working together in some way or another for over ten years and so many of the highlights of Greg's show involve Chris. Not only is he the best newsreader at Radio 1 but also hilarious and creative and a huge talent. The huge potential of their friendship and on-air partnership is proven through the huge success of the Kid Normal book series and the That's What He Said podcast, both popular with Radio 1's target audience of under-30s.

Disappointingly, whilst Greg is moving to the breakfast show, Chris Smith will not be going with him. This is a tragedy - they belong on-air together and any Greg James breakfast show would be lessened without him. It would be a mistake not to keep them together and means the potential to create a truly brilliant new breakfast show for the target audience is reduced. As members of Radio 1's target audience, we ask you to please reconsider the decision to split them up, and move Chris Smith to the breakfast show with Greg.
