Give A-List airplay to Pet Shop Boys next single "Thursday" ft Example.

The Issue

The Pet Shop Boys themselves were recently told that if they were Daft Punk their music would get played automatically and that age is the number one reason they do not receive much radio airplay. Radio 1 should be a standard bearer for great music and more importantly equality - it should be unshackled by ageism, racism, sexism and homophobia.  Without that, "Thursday" will be consigned to BBC Radio 2 and niche play.  With BBC Radio 1's support it could be a huge hit and also be used to raise awareness on these equality issues.  It would likely garner airplay elsewhere too.
