Racing Extinction to be aired on the BBC on a Sunday
The Issue
‘Racing Extinction’ was aired on the Discovery channel, we were disappointed that this documentary was not aired on the BBC. Racing Extinction should be re-run on the BBC, and aired on a Sunday for all families to watch this documentary of one of the most important documentary programmes of our times.
Racing Extinction: The Film
In Racing Extinction, a team of artists and activists exposes the hidden world of extinction with never-before-seen images that will change the way we see the planet. Two worlds drive extinction across the globe, potentially resulting in the loss of half of all species. The international wildlife trade creates bogus markets at the expense of creatures that have survived on this planet for millions of years. And the other surrounds us, hiding in plain sight — a world that the oil and gas companies don’t want the rest of us to see. Using covert tactics and state-of-the-art technology, the Racing Extinction team exposes these two worlds in an inspiring affirmation to preserve life as we know it. From the Academy Award® Winning Filmmakers of "The Cove"
Endangered species are trafficked through the U.S. and China more than any other places in the world. From exotic pets to jewelry and clothing, our laws today allow trafficking which directly threatens some of the world’s most vulnerable species. It’s shocking, but it’s also an opportunity for change.
Please lend your voice for these animals before it’s too late. No matter where in the world you live,
Tell the World's 5 Largest Carbon Emitters It's Time to Stand Up For Species.
Dear President Obama and the leaders of China, European Union, India and Russia,
You represent the world's five largest carbon emitters, and you therefore hold a distinct responsibility to the future of this planet. Out of control greenhouse gas emissions is the leading cause of species extinction, and you therefore hold the future of countless species in your hands. We are running out of time - we may lose half of all species on earth in the next 100 years. This is our last chance to curb climate change and help ensure the safety and survival of our wildlife.
endangered species facing imminent threat because of our changing climate. We cannot afford to wait any longer. These species are counting on us.
You must act now.
