Include Menstrual Hygiene in Nigerian Secondary school curriculum

Include Menstrual Hygiene in Nigerian Secondary school curriculum
Why this petition matters

The current Nigerian secondary school curriculum briefly describes the biology of menstruation. While this information is useful, schools fail to teach young girls how to care for themselves during their periods and to provide them with the support they need during their first periods. Some girls receive this information informally from their mothers or other women in their communities. As such the information received varies and can be outdated.
At Red Project, we would like to see information about menstrual hygiene included in the Nigerian secondary school curriculum to provide comprehensive knowledge on proper hygiene and products for menstruation and to eradicate the stigma that young women experience during their first periods. This education will teach them that menstruation does not limit them from reaching their fullest potential.
