At the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, UK representative SuRie was interrupted mid-song by a stage invasion. She carried on and showed professionalism, but she didn't get the three minutes promised ... performance time that she had spent many months honing. 

Throughout the lead up to the Contest, media outlets commented how SuRie was a great ambassador for the UK. Her handling of the stage invasion only served to underline this.

To thank her for her unwavering spirit, the BBC should invite SuRie to try again, and next year enjoy her promised three minutes. 

Next year, the BBC national song selection (Eurovision ... You Decide) should return focus to the song, and away from five songs with different performers (of varying ability).

Invite SuRie to sing all five and then, let the viewers pick the UK 2019 Eurovision song. Like things used to be, when the UK did better at the Contest.
