Demand the media lets climate scientists speak!

Demand the media lets climate scientists speak!
The Issue
During the unprecedented international Extinction Rebellion protests the media has given airtime to protesters and those who oppose the protests – but very little airtime to actual scientists.
Considering former NASA scientist Professor James Hansen says we face the equivalent of a giant asteroid heading towards the Earth and Sir David Attenborough says 'we are facing a manmade disaster on a global scale' and that if we don't take action we could face 'the collapse of our societies', it is surely imperative that the media enables scientists to tell the public exactly how big the threat is.
On the 9th October, BBC's The Andrew Neil Show saw Mr Neil quiz a demonstrator - not a scientist – about the science. On 10th October, BBC Question Time, billed as a climate change special, again had no climate scientists on the panel. Sky News continually gives more airtime to commentators discussing the facts rather than to scientists.
Many members of the public are understandably confused. The media are failing in their duty to adequately inform us. We need less opinion and more facts.
This petition is to demand that the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News broadcasts a Question Time or other special public information broadcast on the Science of Climate Change where senior climate scientists from our highest scientific institutions and universities explain the facts of climate change, address 'contrarian' arguments, tell us just how bad it is, and settle this science in the public’s mind once and for all.
