On December 25th, 2014, the BBC's Doctor Who aired the Christmas special "Last Christmas" and one of the characters introduced in this special was named "Shona McCullough," and boy, did she make an entrance!

Faye Marsay, the English actress who portrayed Shona, danced into our hearts with her unforgettable moves, her sassy personality, and her all-around lovable demeanor!

By the end of the episode, we have seen a few potential reasons for her to become the next companion:

1. Dave: She apparently has a relationship with someone named "Dave." Finding out who he is, or why Shona needed to "forgive him" could be a good story arc.
2. She's lonely: Even if she has "Dave" in her life, when she had gained new friends, that she thought she wouldn't get to see again, she tried to keep in touch with them.
3. She's CLEARLY bored: Almost everything on her Christmas list involved her staying in the house. She's due for a little adventure!
4. She seemingly has no serious ties anchoring her (on earth).
5. She's a fan-favorite that has stolen the hearts of the viewers.

Some people speculated that she was to be the next companion after Jenna Coleman, who played Clara Oswald, had left the show.

Many had hoped that Shona would come back, but alas, she didn't... but that doesn't mean she can't.

Faye Marsay has stated how she would "absolutely love to go back into Doctor Who." That means if enough people want her back, then she'll come back!
