RIP Slate, Colony Alpha Cat, Gone But Never Forgotten

The Bayview Irrigation staff called to tell me that Slate, who had been missing since Thurs morning, was found dead on their property this morning when they came into work. They let me in the back to see him. The body was badly decomposed but I turned him over to see if I could see anything. They buried him on the property with a dog I had rescued from there ten years ago and another TNR colony cat that had been hit by a car. I have had a long good relationship with the Irrigation District and I am sure no one there caused Slate’s death. He was 11-12 years old and lived a good long life for an outside cat. He will be missed.
