Keep George st reserve an off-leash area

The issue

The Bayside Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) proposes that the George st Reserve is made a dog on-leash area.

We will no longer be able to walk through this reserve with our dogs off lead.

The reason given is that dogs off-lead damage wildlife and vegetation, which is a silly idea for which there is no evidence.

The BAP also proposes to burn the George st reserve.  How can dog damage compare to the damage a fire will do!

We want to be able to walk in the George st reserve with our dogs off lead and people and dogs enjoying the bush, the fresh air and the companionship of fellow walkers and dog owners.

Our dogs are not doing any damage in being off-lead.

We want Bayside Council to leave us alone.
