Please remove the Dangerous Dog designation for Marley.  Marley mauled nobody. The 15-year-old boy Taylor only needed Band-Aids to treat the bite wounds. Marley's punishment exceeds his actions. Out of nearly 1,000 dog bite incidents in Bay County over the past three years, only 14 dogs have been declared dangerous. That's less than 2 percent.  FL Statute says, "A dog shall not be declared dangerous" if the dog bites somebody in defense of his family at home (2015 FL Statute 767.12 section b). This means that Animal Control Director Kathy Beatson broke FL Statute by declaring Marley dangerous.  We're asking you to reclassify Marley as not dangerous immediately. We're asking Bay County to follow the law. Owner Jonothan Jones has stated that he will follow the guidance of a dog behavior specialist with regard to family reunification. Marley's family wants him to come home.  Let's make that happen.
