Stop the development of Caddies Creek Reserve in Baulkham Hills!!!
The issue
Caddies Creek Development - SAY NO
Baulkham Hills sent out a development proposal on 4/03/2015, development proposal number 998/2015/JP to all residents within the development area.
As a resident who lives right next to the reserve, this was the number one reason for moving into the area with my family. It was an area that was quiet, clean and uninterrupted with flora and fauna.
I'm all for development and improving just like we have the North West rail link coming through. We now want to create more noise by building an unnecessary sporting facility which we have an abundance of within the shire.
To add, most working people/parents are hectic enough throughout their working week and now we want to clog our street with cars, noise and flood lighting amongst other things.
When did we stop caring about our environment and become so self induced in developing every bit of land. It's bad enough that housing developments take up every square inch of land all the while destroying our environment. What are we leaving behind that actually promotes the environment and satisfies the reasons why a lot of residents moved into the Hills district.
This is another money making idea in which the local government uses our hard earned money in rate payments to develop facilities in which the local government will make money from.
What positives does it really provide our community:
- Provides a facility of which there are many of already
What negatives arise as a result of this development:
- Increased transit traffic in the area
- Increased foot traffic in the area
- Increased noise
- Glaring flood lights
- Destroys our flaura
- Destroys or displaces our fauna
- Creates angst amongst residents
- Another place that promotes the accumulation of rubbish
- Quiet weekends which people look forward to, are a thing of the past
I could go on and on!
If you agree with this and other sentiments that you also must be feeling as a resident of this beautiful area please become a friend of this page on Facebook.
