There is currently an open consultation with OFCOM on a request to change the terms of the Spirit FM license (and lots of other stations in our area too) to make them less local.
I had already responded to this asking for all of the signatures to the group to be considered as part of my response, however, it has been indicated to me privately that the number of negative responses carries more weight with them than anything else.
So I'm asking for all of your help - THIS IS CURRENTLY THE BEST HOPE WE HAVE TO PREVENT THE REBRAND.
What I need as many people as possible to do is:
1) Download this Microsoft Word template: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/file/0029/195158/response-form-bauer-south.odt
2) Add your full name and telephone number, and say that you are representing "Self" and add your e-mail address. Then read the "Confidentiality" section and delete the relevant parts as appropriate.
3) Where is says "Your response", replace this with why you do not want Spirit FM to change and request that they deny the changes. This can be as long as you want, but please keep it civil. You can mark it confidential or not, it shouldn't matter either way.
4) Save the document as a '.doc' or '.docx' file and then email it as an attachment to approved.areas@ofcom.org.uk

Additionally - if they receive a large number of responses, yet still approve the changes, then it will leave OFCOM in a difficult situation politically and we can then motivate our MPs to challenge.
