Spirit FM has served the West Sussex community since 1996 as a truly local radio station with local staff that has championed many local causes and made a real difference in our community during that time.

Bauer Media acquired Spirit FM as part of a buyout of its parent company, UKRD, in March 2019 and on 27 May 2020, announced that Spirit FM will be rebranded as Greatest Hits Radio from September.

This will mean that nothing will be produced locally and only the Drivetime show will be "regional" which will cover the same area as ITV Meridian, so not really local.  The rest of the programming will come from Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, or London.

So this means, from September, what you've known for the last 24 years as Spirit FM will cease to be and many people that have worked so hard to make it what it is today will lose their jobs - despite recently posting their best listener figures ever.

Please show your support for everyone at Spirit FM by signing this petition and leaving a comment in the hope that if we get enough support that we can make Bauer reconsider their plans.
