Reverse the decision by BMHA to disallow the use of the Ash Lascelle commemorative crest

In light of recent tragedies in our community and in the interest of commemorating the life and friendships of Ash Lascelle, his hockey teammates designed and displayed commemorative crests on their Barons team jerseys. The intent was to leave the crests on the jerseys for what would have been the duration of Ash's minor hockey with Battlefords Minor Hockey Association, three years ending 2021. The Board of Directors of the Battlefords Minor Hockey Association held an emergency vote, deciding to both refuse financial support for the cost of the crests and also demanding the removal of the commemorative crests. In response, a BMHA member contacted the President of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association for input and advice. The SHA is absolutely in favor of leaving the crests in place, and offered this opinion to BMHA which was ignored. These crests are a small token of pride and awareness to all members of BMHA, and a show of support for the Lascelle family, and other families impacted by teen suicide.
Please consider this petition a means to gain support and allow the display of the commemorative crests by the players and members of BMHA. This petition is intended to motivate the board of directors to reverse their decision and also to make clear that they are not representing the wishes of the membership that elected them.
