Although BANES' Council have only recently provided details of proposals for the new leisure centre, they have entirely failed to consult on the facilities that will be provided. As the situation stands at the end of the recent 'consultation', Keynsham stands to lose a community sports hall, badminton courts, squash courts, indoor football venue, seating at the pool side for swimming galas, sauna and steam room and squash courts. After the monumental building and expense provided on the same site for Banes' council workers, the people of Keynsham have been severely let down in terms of sporting facilities for residents. This coupled with the fact that the town is growing significantly means that we need more recreational activities for our town, certainly not fewer!
