• What is the problem?

Improper waste disposal remains a significant concern at Tulay na Lupa National High School. Several areas of the campus experience mixed waste, insufficient segregation, and inconsistent monitoring.

 

• Who is affected of this issue?

These issues affect the overall cleanliness of the school environment and may pose health and environmental risks to students and staff of Tulay na Lupa National High School.

 

B. Importance of the Advocacy

 

• Why this issue matters?

Since keeping the campus clean is everyone’s responsibility, this project introduces “Basura Mo, Responsibilidad Mo: Recycle to Create.” The program encourages better waste management by turning recyclable materials into useful classroom improvements. Through organized participation and monitoring, it promotes discipline, environmental awareness, and active student involvement while giving real benefits to each section.

 

C. Proposed Solution

 

 • What changes do you want to achieve?

Our vision is to create a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible school community at Tulay na Lupa National High School where every student actively practices proper waste segregation and recycling.

Our mission is to educate and inspire students to practice proper waste management, create useful projects from recyclables, and develop responsibility and teamwork while improving their classrooms and school environment

 

•What is the purpose of this advocacy?

The primary purpose of this project is to address waste management issues within the school through student participation and sustainable practices.

 

Specifically, the program aims to:

• Reduce littering and mixed waste inside classrooms and school premises.

• Strengthen proper waste segregation habits among students.

 

D. Call to action

Key Features

Color-Coded Waste Bin System- Properly labeled bins for biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable waste will be installed in classrooms and common areas.

Recycle-to-Create Innovation Challenge - Sections will design and create useful products from collected recyclable materials.

 

Classroom Upgrade Incentive - The winning section will receive classroom improvement materials to enhance their learning environment.

Weekly Monitoring and Evaluation - Designated Eco-Leaders and faculty advisers will conduct regular monitoring of waste segregation practices.

 

Waste Awareness Campaign - Educational posters and short orientations will reinforce the importance of environmental responsibility.

• Implementation Process

Orientation & Awareness - Explain proper segregation, program rules, and the Recycle-to-Create project with Classroom Upgrade incentive.

Waste Audit & Bin Labeling - Identify common waste and label bins as biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable.

 

Section Area Assignment - Assign each class areas for daily monitoring and collection of recyclables.

Weekly Monitoring - Eco-Leaders, class officers, and teachers check cleanliness, segregation, and project progress.

Monthly Evaluation & Awarding - Evaluate projects for creativity, usefulness, and sustainability. Winners receive Cleanest Classroom, Eco-Champion Award, and the Classroom Upgrade Package.
