Terrie Lynn Bach started this petition to Bastrop County Commissioner’s Court

For far too long, local law enforcement in Bastrop County does little to uphold Texas Law in animal cruelty, neglect and abuse cases. Recently the case of a starving horse that died for lack of proper care, food and water went viral. The Humane Society offered their assistance to the Bastrop County Sheriffs Dept to Rescue the many horses and other animals on this particular owner’s property. This offer was ignored. The Sheriffs Dept posted on their Facebook page that there was no evidence of neglect and the horses there had plenty of water and food. This is simply not true. (The small water bowl in the pic was placed there by a Good Samaritan, who was later warned by the Sheriffs Dept to not trespass on private property. This horse died within a short time after the picture was taken.)

We demand justice for these horses, some of whom are still in danger. We demand the Bastrop Sheriffs Dept be held accountable to uphold Texas’ anti cruelty and neglect laws in all cases, including starving horses, 24/7 chained dogs, cruelty to cats and small animals and cock fighting.

Sign our petition and be a voice for those who have no voice. All animals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
