OBJETIVO: Facilitar el tránsito de las especies locales y evitar los atropellos,
minimizando el “efecto barrera” sobre ellas.

minimizing the “barrier effect” on them.

• Cerramiento de las autopistas: A todo lo largo del trazado externo de la vía, instalar una valla o cerramiento que actúe como obstáculo evitando que los animales accedan a la autopista de manera involuntaria. En aquellas zonas donde haya presencia de fauna con hábitos excavadores, dichas estructuras se enterrarán unos centímetros en el suelo y se dispondrán de forma efectiva y sin riesgo para los seres vivos.

• Enclosure of highways: Along the entire length of the external route of the road,install a fence or enclosure that acts as an obstacle preventing animals from accessingthe highway involuntarily. In those areas where there is presence of fauna withburrowing habits, these structures will be buried a few centimeters in the ground andwill be disposed of effectively and without risk to living beings.

• Dispositivos de escape de fauna: Estos dispositivos son rampas o puertas integradas en el cerramiento que permiten que los animales que accedan accidentalmente a la vía, puedan evacuarla, vía contraria de forma fácil y rápida.

• Fauna escape devices: These devices are ramps or doors integrated into the
enclosure that allow animals that accidentally access the road, to be able to evacuateit, on the opposite route way, easily and quickly.

• Pasos de fauna: Además de la construcción de pasos bajo nivel específicos para el tránsito de pequeños mamíferos adaptados a sus dimensiones, algunas de las obras de drenaje transversal (ODT) se deben adaptar como pasos de fauna mediante la creación de bancales, permitiendo zonas de paso secas. También se crearán
  lucernarios a la altura de la mediana para hacer posible la entrada de luz al interior de la estructura.

• Fauna crossings: In addition to the construction of specific underpasses for the
transit of small mammals adapted to their dimensions, some of the transversal
drainage works (TDW) must be adapted as fauna crossings by creating terraces,
allowing dry passage areas. Skylights will also be created at the at the height of the
median to allow light to enter inside of the structure.

• Dispositivos de elevación de vuelo: Con el objetivo de evitar afecciones a la avifauna, se instalarán dispositivos de elevación de vuelo. Estos dispositivos permitirán que las aves tomen una altura de vuelo suficiente antes de atravesar la autopista, evitando así que sean golpeadas por los vehículos.

• Flight elevation devices: In order to prevent damage to birds, flight elevation
devices will be installed. These devices will allow the birds to take a sufficient flight
height before crossing the highway, thus preventing them from being hit by vehicles.

B) PROTOCOLOS DE RESCATE DE ANIMALES ACCIDENTADOS, HERIDOS Y FALLECIDOS

B) RESCUE PROTOCOLS FOR ACCIDENT, INJURED AND DECEASED ANIMAL

• Formar personal de seguridad de carreteras para rescate de animales o
  contratación de servicios de rescate especializados.
• Train road security personnel for animal rescue or hiring of specialized rescue
  services.
• Establecer un protocolo de salvamento o rescate desde que se recibe el aviso al número de atención 112 ó a los cuerpos y fuerzas de seguridad del Estado.
• Establish a rescue protocol from the time the notification is received to the 112 service number or to the State security forces.
• Comunicación del fallecimiento y retirada del cuerpo al propietario/a a través de la lectura obligatoria del microchip.
• Removal of the body and communication of the decease to the owner through the obligatory microchip reading.
• Establecer convenios con clínicas veterinarias de cada zona para la atención veterinaria de los animales accidentados y heridos.
• Establish agreements with veterinary clinics in each area for the veterinary care of injured animals.
