Bass Pro Shop & Cabela's: Stop selling assault rifles.

Bass Pro Shop & Cabela's: Stop selling assault rifles.

Dick's Sporting Goods just announced they will no longer sell guns or ammunition to anyone under 21, and reaffirmed their commitment to not sell assault weapons or high volume magazines. This means that Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops are the only major retail brands still selling semi-automatic assault-style rifles.
In the wake of the Parkland tragedy, Cabela and Bass Pro shops, who recently merged in a $4 billion deal, should take the same steps that Dick’s Sporting Goods has. These common sense changes could save lives. Here is the statement from Dicks:
Beginning today, DICK’S Sporting Goods is committed to the following:
- We will no longer sell assault-style rifles, also referred to as modern sporting rifles. We had already removed them from all DICK’S stores after the Sandy Hook massacre, but we will now remove them from sale at all 35 Field & Stream stores
- We will no longer sell firearms to anyone under 21 years of age.
- We will no longer sell high capacity magazines.
- We never have and never will sell bump stocks that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire more rapidly.
Please join me in calling on Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops to stop selling semi-automatic assault-style rifles and any guns or ammunition to people under 21.
