This is Important as Phillip Island suffers under a plague of thefts including boats, motorcycles, caravans and trailers. The quiet semi rural island is easy pickings for organised theives.

I had my Motorcycle, trailer, tools and gear stolen after a race and have since found out that it "is a regular occurance". This is unacceptable and could easily be heavily dettered by monitoring the only way on or off the island.

By installing HD licence plate cameras we will free the Police to do more serious work and minimise the actual crime as the chance of being caught will rise dramatically.
