As the COVID-19 pediatric cases are on the rise nationwide and the Fall semester of school is approaching, we are as concerning parents opt to believe in science and healthcare professional advice.

Per the American Academy of Pediatrics data (July 2021), it is showing the following:

"38,654 child COVID-19 cases were reported the past week from 7/15/21-7/22/21 (4,087,916 to 4,126,570) and children represented 16.8% (38,654/230,063) of the weekly reported case”, and “Over two weeks, 7/8/21-7/22/21, there was a 2% increase in the cumulated number of child COVID-19 cases (62,205 cases added (4,064,365 to 4,126,570))".

According to the CDC mask guidelines (June 2021), “if you are not fully vaccinated and aged 2 or older, you should wear a mask in indoor public places”.  Since the majority of the school-age children from K-12 are not vaccinated at this time, the CDC (2021) has also recommended, “Masks should be worn indoors by all individuals (age 2 and older) who are not fully vaccinated”, as well as “multiple layered prevention strategies” such as hand sanitization, 3-feet distances, ventilation, and early testing (CDC, 2021). 

Due to all reasons aforementioned, we request a mandatory mask requirement for all students at Basis Chandler Primary North School until all students are fully vaccinated.
