The action park is situated on the a127, wickford, we have a huge selection of activitys like army assualt course, mx tracks, archery, quad bikes, 4x4 driving, rally buggies, clay pigeon shooting, paintball tournament, paintball target shooting , a high ropes course that is designed to make you feel an addrinalin rush -climbing, jumping balancing, swinging, leaping,an zipping, so give the computer a rest as we have packages for all the family to enjoy together, we also cater for school trips birthdays and stag and hen/corporate days.

We have been working with local police to try to stop people who ride moto cross bikes in parks and marsh's , we give the police cards to give the offender which entitles them to a free ride on our track where it is controlled and safer, we have had signs made for the Thurrock police to put up near the troublesome spots to.

Our local fire brigade also use our tracks to test there new vehicles and have training days on our off road tracks. Action park also holds charity events and helped raise over 26’000 just for little havens hospice alone, we also cater for schools a cheaper local amenity for all to enjoy,we have allot of special needs provisions that use action park as alternative education centre and even Essex county council use us!! it's great for team building, self-confidence, motivation, and can change a child’s whole mentality. We also work along-side our sister company Action Learning, which is an alternative education centre based in the heart of Essex, catering for primary schools through to 18 year olds that benefit from practical learning. They pride themselves in giving students an opportunity to undertake practical learning experiences, which can also be linked to Nationally recognised qualifications and Functional Skills exams.

As a recognised Approved Centre they currently deliver the AQA Unit Award Scheme and Gateway Progression Awards Qualifications, along with Functional Skills from Entry Level 1 through to and including Level 2 where appropriate.

By exposing individuals to a range of learning opportunities, in a calm and controlled manner, allowing them to reach their full potential, by overcoming fears and anxiety in small, manageable, steps. These 'changes' can happen in a number of areas, such as increased social interaction with their peers and other individuals, and /or undertaking activities which previously, they had either been 'unwilling' or unable to do. Action Park has a variety of activities that have been successfully used and repeated for such groups, encouraging confidence, self-esteem and social skills.

So now you know what we do, we have been fighting the local council(Basildon council) for the last year spending thousands of pounds to keep the park open we have been told by the planning inspectorate we are to close on may the 13th  2015, as we are operating on green belt land, but we are a recreational site still in the country and only have mud tracks to ride on, there is no permanent structures only a wooden tower for our high ropes course, some hard standing areas for car parking and a few containers painted green for equipment storage.

In 2013 we received a complaint from the council regarding noise coming from moto cross bikes, but we are between the A127 and the A130 with a few farms in the close proximity of which we have full support from residing neighbours, as you can see by the photos of our site we are surrounded by farm land, so the few noise complaints we had we was prepared to build a 5 metre banking around the moto cross track to prevent the noise from travelling, we paid an independent acoustic solutions company to do noise metre testing and a landscape professional to put together a landscaped visual for the 5 metre banking with planted trees etc. which would be in keeping with the green belt land , we also suggested we install a wind metre at Action park and if the wind was south easterly we would not run our moto cross tracks, we also tested each bike to conform with the ACU (NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY FOR MOTOR SPORT) RULES AS QUOTED- “

a) All motorcycles using the venue must comply with a MAXIMUM sound level of 94db for 4 stroke engines and 96db for 2 stroke engines. This level may be achieved by the fitting of a secure baffle or with a standard silencer system. Any machine failing to achieve this level must not be allowed on track.

b) Ideally, all machines must be sound tested before being allowed on the track. For more information on Sound testing please contact the ACU on 01788 566400.

c) Note: This maximum sound level will reduce in line with the competition sound level as laid down

by the Auto-Cycle Union.”

We adhered to this guideline and advised customers to re pack exhausts and maybe purchase a decibel killer to insert into the exhaust, we also limited the group/session sizes to reduce noise as well, but the said council have not excepted these conditions” as to build the banks would be an enormous operation that would entail bringing many thousands of tonnes of material to the site” but as you can see from the information below the council are planning to build on green belt on a much larger scale! Said this they want us to close down the park as it is not in keeping with the green belt land and will not give us planning permission to rectify the noise complaints.

But in recent weeks we have learnt about a council housing project that will be built on green belt land the other side of the town on a huge scale as you can see from the link, including a new gypsy/traveller site! Which the council spent in excess of £7 million to get them removed! And can I just say they are still there, for more info please go to -  What this does not show is that they are widening the A127 to 6 lanes! So 6000 houses will put a huge amount of pressure on local roads, hospitals ,doctors, dentists, schools, emergency services! as if there isn’t enough traffic in this area!

As you can see by the facts we have given you that Basildon council clearly don’t recognise the need for an outdoor activity centre to keep kids active and off the streets and obesity levels down in the UK!
