Major League Baseball should return to Montreal, Canada.

Major League Baseball should return to Montreal, Canada.
The Issue
In 1969, the first MLB game was played on Canadian soil in the city of Montreal. The Montreal Expos have seen talent come through their city and fans had a great franchise to support.
Due to the team being sold to 14 different investors in 1991, not being able to secure a legit baseball stadium, then Jeffrey Loria gained majority interest in the late 90s. He demanded a new stadium, which appeared in the form of LaBatt Park. Even though it consisted of public/private funding, Loria demanded too much and killed any relationship with the city.
Now, this is where it get's confusing.
Loria wanted to buy the Florida Marlins, which was then owned by John Henry, who wanted to buy the Boston Red Sox.
With a little sleight-of-hand, and a lot of money, and a few winks from Major League Baseball, Henry bought the Red Sox, Loria bought the Marlins, and the other 29 owners bought the Montreal Expos for $120 million. Once that happened, it was over.
The people of Montreal deserve better.
Sign this petition to prove that the shenanigans of the past shouldn’t rob Montreal of a great sports franchise. It’s time to undo this tragedy. Whether your a Canadian or not, let’s show our support.
